Title Women's Opportunity Network Coordinator

Description:
Intern will work with committee to organize a Womens' Lifestyles Fair scheduled for March 6th as well as other networking opportunities to be determined by intern and committee. Intern will also develop web materials that would benefit professional women in the area. Intern will also develop on-line and print advertising and distribute marketing materials for the programs.

Organizational Relationship:
Supervised by the Prairie Tech Learning Center director and a committee comprised of members of WON.

Required Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal skills
Basic Computer Skills
Positive attitude and good people skills
Person must be a self starter

Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Experience Preferred
Microsoft Publisher experience

Responsibilities:
Work with director to develop a schedule for WON Events
Collaborate with committee and other area organizations to create materials and programming to fit the needs of professional women
Work with marketing intern PTLC director on marketing materials for programs
Recruit and manage volunteers for Special Events
Serve as a spokesperson for WON to the media and in the community
Evaluate the success of completed programs and propose improvements to the director
Perform other related functions as required or directed

Job Duration: One Semester

Title: Hispanic Health Newsletter "Tu Voz Tu Comunidad" Layout and Design Editor

Description:
Intern will work with Hispanic Health Newsletter Committee on the compilation and layout of a quarterly newsletter that will be sent to the printer in November and the initial layout of a spring edition. This includes minor editing of the text to make it fit in the available space, finding pictures to complement the text, working with the committee on copy editing.

Organizational Relationship:
Intern will be overseen by a committee of community members and faculty representatives. Linda Lee Blaine will be the day-to-day on-site supervisor for the position.

Required Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal skills
Basic Microsoft Publisher skills
Knowledge of photo-editing
Positive attitude and good people skills
Person must be a self starter

Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Experience Preferred
Spanish Proficiency

Responsibilities:
Work with committee on time line for receiving articles, having drafts ready etc
Work with Copy Editor Intern on the creation of articles to fit available space
Work with committee to market available advertising for the newsletter
Recruit and manage volunteers as necessary
Serve as a spokesperson for Hispanic Health Newsletter to the College community
Evaluate the success of completed programs and propose improvements to the committee
Perform other functions as necessary

Title: Marketing and Advertising Coordinator for the Hispanic Health Newsletter "Tu Voz Tu Comunidad"

Description:
Intern will work with committee to develop a marketing campaign to sell advertising and announcements in the quarterly Hispanic Health Newsletter "Tu Voz Tu Comunidad," Intern will work with the local business community in Warren and Knox Counties to fill advertising space and help advertisers create appealing advertisements with the help of a translator as necessary.

Organizational Relationship:
Supervised by the Prairie Tech Learning Center director and a committee comprised of community members from various organizations.

Required Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal skills
Basic Computer Skills
Positive attitude and good people skills
Person must be a self starter

Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Experience Preferred
Spanish Proficiency

Responsibilities:
Work with director and committee to develop strategy for marketing advertising to the community
Work closely with other interns and committee to create attractive layout for the newsletter
Work with businesses on the layout/design of their advertisements
Recruit and manage volunteers as needed to help sell advertisements
Serve as a spokesperson for the Hispanic Health Newsletter to the media and in the community
Evaluate the success of completed programs and propose improvements to the director
Perform other related functions as required or directed

Job Duration: One Semester
